Goodbye Jenni Riviera

In looking for things to blog about today, I found this news from EOnline.  "Tragedy has struck, and now Jenni Rivera's friends and fans are sharing their condolences for the loss of this great singer.
Along with many celebs who have tweeted their sympathies for the late star, Telemundo, the network which aired Rivera's reality TV show, I Love Jenni, released this statement:
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Rivera family and the families of her team, as we await for details and official confirmation from the authorities on this tragic accident."
Until today, I'll be honest, I had no idea who Jenni Riviera was.  So I did a little looking up on her, and found she was an amazing woman.  Not only did she overcome great adversity and abuse, but she did something with her God given talents and reached out to help others in need including having recently been named as spokeswoman for the National Coalition for Domestic Abuse, she will be sorely missed by many.  RIP Jenni.

On My Feet!

I am not going to lie.  I hate winter.  With a passion.  I hate driving.  I hate worrying about my kids driving.  I hate scraping ice off my truck.  I hate shoveling snow.  The only thing tolerable about the season is Christmas, and I do love that.  But the one thing I REALLY love about winter?

The clothes.  Oh sweet Jesus, I love winter clothes.  Jeans, sweaters, scarfs and fuzzy socks!  YUM! And it is always nice to hide the extra weight that I keep telling myself will fall off now that the baby is 15.  HA.

Anyway,  I was shopping online the other day, and found these amazing UGG slippers.  At Victoria's Secret!  I couldn't believe it.  Vicky's of all places.  Not only do I find shoes that feel like I am walking on a cloud, but I get angel points to boot?  Life is truly good.  These would make a great gift for someone, or yourself!!

Kate is Pregnant!!

Ya, I am way late with this post, but you write when you can write!  You'd be surprised to find how hard it is for a blogger to get time to write.  Between shopping, cleaning, cooking, getting ready for Christmas, running kids around, it's always something, I tell ya!

Anyway, I am not a big follower of celebrities or the royal family,  but I have to admit, I was tickled pink to hear that Kate was pregnant!  According to sources, she's been hospitalized for a bit, but  "The Duchess of Cambridge is continuing to feel better," a rep for St. James's Palace said in a statement. "She and the duke are immensely grateful for the good wishes they have received."

There's just something about these two that makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.  Not quite sure what it is, but she just seems like someone, given the circumstances, that I would like to know.  I wish them the best of luck - and let's be honest, they are going to make gorgeous babies!!!

Best time of year to buy a new car!

I know with all the hustle and bustle of trying to get ready for Christmas that the last thing you want to do is deal with the hassle of buying a new car, but listen on for some info that could really help you save some big cash in pocket!

First off, it's the time of year where the dealerships are trying to get rid of all this years models that haven't sold yet to make room for the brand new ones coming in. They are usually offering cash back and or very low financing to move these cars off the lot.

The next thing to your advantage is that most banks want to get as much new business on this years books as they can, so this is the perfect time of year to get yourself the lowest interest rate possible. Just go to your bank, apply, then go to the dealership and ask them to beat it. Chances are they will!

Always try to buy local. Not only are you putting money and jobs back into your town, but its easier to build a buyer/seller relationship with someone in town. I always buy my vehicles from Snell Motors from Jeff Wondra! Superb service above anyplace I've ever gone. Check them out and tell him I sent you!

Do you want flowers or do you want meaningful?

Last Friday, I was teasing my husband while we were at Sam's Club about flowers.  Our 20th Anniversary was coming up THE NEXT day and I will shamefacededly admit that I was "hinting".  Blatantly.  I wanted flowers.  I LOVE flowers.  Flowers say, "I love you."  Right?  OOOF.  What he said next could have tipped me over with a feather.  He said, "Do you want flowers?  Or do you want meaningful?

Well, pretty sure I'd be a real jerk if I didn't pick meaningful.  I did, of course.  He just smiled a secret smile and went on with his day.  Curiosity didn't kill me, but pretty sure it beat me within an inch of my life.  By the end of the day, I was exhausted just from wondering what he had planned.

He finally decided to put me out of my misery right around midnight.  He suddenly got up, pounded on our son's door, and said, "I need that stuff you've been hiding for me."  Good place to hide it.  I wouldn't go in his room with a ten foot pole.  LOL!  He came out with a picture board and a box.

The tears started immediately.  With 12 pictures, the help of my son and Mr. Monogram, he gave me meaningful.  He went through our crazy life of over 20 years together, and somehow managed to pull out 12 of my favorites pictures of our life that told "our story".  And then he titled it....."The First 20 Years".   He also worked with Lori and Owen at Mr. Monogram to create the most amazing blanket I've ever seen with the same lovely words.

I love flowers, but I love meaningful more.  Thank you, Rick, for the most amazing anniversary ever!  Here's to the next 20 years!  LOVE YOU FOREVER
